In the domain of concord and peace, this paper examines some aspects of Greek diplomatic life regarding mediation and reconciliation, with particular reference to the epigraphic evidences of the verb diallasso and the words diallage and diallaktes. The content of this paper has been presented to the International Congress of Greek History Salvare le poleis, costruire la concordia, progettare la pace, held in Turin from 5 to 7 April 2006.
